KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) Kansas City police say a mother and her daughter were killed Monday night when their car apparently was struck by a sport utility vehicle that was fleeing officers. The incident reportedly started about 8:40 p.m. when two officers tried stopping the SUV. It is not clear why the stop was made. Two passengers in the vehicle got out and ran, but were caught and arrested. The SUV driver fled, but police didn't pursue the man. Officers saw the SUV crashed a short time later and arrested the driver. Police say the SUV struck a car with a mother and her children inside. The woman and one of her daughters was killed. Two other daughters were taken to hospitals. Their names and ages were not immediately released.
