Governor Vetoes Voter ID

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) Governor Sebelius has vetoed a bill to require voters to show an identification card at the polls on election days. The bill gave state and local officials one year to implement and would have provided a free ID card for anyone who doesn't have official documentation. Sebelius says it would discourage voting. Senator Tim Huelskamp of Fowler says the bill was a good compromise that would improve voter participation and preserve the integrity of the elections.
