A motorist accused of reckless driving near a funeral procession in Blue Springs recently has been charged with involuntary manslaughter. The car struck and killed a funeral escort officer riding a motorcycle. The suspect, identified as 20 year old John Mihm, turned himself in over the weekend. The mishap, which killed 51 year old Steven Keith, occurred on Woods Chapel Road on April 2nd. Authorities said Mihm was weaving a sport utility vehicle in and out of traffic when he hit Keith. The motorcycle was forced off the road into a brick pillar. Keith died at a hospital several days later. His family has also filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Mihm.
